Dare to be bold.

Dare to Dream.

Gabe Figueroa is an award-winning director and producer working in the creative mediums of film, television, and theatre.

Gabe Figueroa

Since picking up his first video camcorder and being cast in his first musical within weeks of being ten years old, Gabe has demonstrated a passion for creating dynamic, bold stories that provoke internal reflection and social change. His love for culture and travel greatly inform his directorial endeavors in film, with vividly remembered locales inspiring his newest ideas, and becoming the setting for stories such as Cold Winter’s Night. This 21st century adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker shined a spotlight on the rapidly changing face of America’s Military, and the effect of loss on the children of today. The short film was recently honored by the Television Academy, being awarded the 2nd Place prize for ‘Best Children’s Programming’ and other accolades at film festivals across the US.

In all of his work, Gabe displays a commitment to creating content that features empowered female and diverse characters in leading roles, finding their voices hopeful and underrepresented in the current cinematic landscape. As a Producer, he embraces a “Team Appreciation” mentality that expresses gratitude and respect for the contributions of his cast and crew. Gabe’s professional training in film production includes work on feature films, television, shorts, commercials, and music videos.

Gabe made his directorial debut in theatre working on a special Children’s Theatre production of the classic, Annie, which played to over 5,000 elementary school students over the course of a two month run. Since then, the content of his work has ranged from the classic to the new frontier of theatrical storytelling. In the past two years, Gabe has worked alongside indelible artists at Cirque du Soleil (The Beatles LOVE), the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (2015 Fall Season), South Coast Repertory (Pacific Playwrights Festival), The Latino Theater Company (A Mexican Trilogy: An American Story), The Theatre @ Boston Court (Colony Collapse by Stefanie Zadravec), and Son of Semele (Revelation).

With each new work, Gabe Figueroa continues to reveal an honest and relevant style that focuses on celebrating the diverse nature of the human experience. He is also devoted to ensuring that each endeavor becomes a positive and memorable experience for the team members involved. As a recent graduate of Chapman University’s programs at the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, and Department of Theatre, he’s just getting started, and is looking to realize the next impossible dream.
