Gabe believes in creating bold stories that provoke internal reflection and social change - and is currently incubating a new television pilot and narrative short for future production. His short film Cold Winter’s Night (2015) was awarded the 2nd Place prize for ‘Best Children’s Programming’ by the Television Academy and received other accolades at film festivals across the US. His work in assistant direction spans narratives, commercials, and music videos.
Gabe currently produces work for Shots Studios’ clients Lele Pons and Juanpa Zurita - including Lele Pons’ debut music video Celoso and her most recent single Bloqueo. He has also produced music videos for Alesso and Rudy Mancuso. Cumulatively these projects have amassed over 350 million views on YouTube.com. Gabe also collaborated on producing teams for multiple feature films, short films, and music videos, supporting the visions of artists such as Fall Out Boy, G-Eazy, Hayley Kiyoko, Timbaland and Dave East.
On the stage, Gabe acts as the Associate Artistic Director of Hero Theatre – a bi-coastal social activist theatre company seeking to reimagine great works for social progress. In March 2019 he directed the company’s Hero Song Cycle Cabaret – a special evening celebrating new musical works destined to become the classics of this generation.
Gabe is also an associate member of SDC and has seen his producing work on stage at Center Theatre Group (50th Anniversary Celebration), the Belle Reve Theatre Company (Time Alone) and the Latino Theater Company (Encuentro de las Americas, 2017 Latino Theater Company Season).
Gabe studied at Chapman University in Orange, CA – earning a BFA in Film Direction and a BA in Theatrical Technology. He subsequently trained with the teams at Cirque du Soleil, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Hero Theatre.
With each new endeavor, Gabe Figueroa continues to reveal an honest and dynamic style that focuses on celebrating the diverse nature of the human experience. He’s just getting started and looking to realize that next ‘impossible’ dream.
